Proof that Clarity Changes Decisions
Real-world evidence shows that immersive education leads to better understanding, higher confidence, and aligned expectations.
At GreenMan, our mission is to pioneer immersive educational experiences that clarify choices, build trust, and foster rewarding doctor-patient relationships in vision care.
Through clinical studies and real-world validation, InSightVR has demonstrated its ability to improve patient understanding, enhance satisfaction, and support advanced technology IOL adoption across a range of clinical settings.
Impact at a Glance
Study 1: Pilot & Multi-Site Clinical Data (2023–2024)
Purpose: Assess the impact of InSightVR on IOL selection and patient satisfaction.
Design: Retrospective, randomized study at two clinical sites (Drs. Greenwood & Baartman). 233 cataract patients eligible for AT-IOLs were divided into two groups:
- Control: 112 patients received traditional verbal IOL education
- VR Group: 121 patients used InSightVR during their evaluation
Impact:
- AT-IOL chosen: 26% (control) vs 57% (VR group)
- Expectation alignment: 90% said their vision after surgery matched what they saw in VR
- Patient advocacy: 93% said they would recommend the headset to friends or family
Conclusion: Use of InSightVR more than doubled advanced-technology IOL selection and enhanced patient confidence through realistic, expectation-aligned education.
“Patients who used InSightVR were more confident in their IOL choice and better understood what their vision would be like after surgery.”

Study 2: Beta & Post-Launch Validation Study (2024)
Purpose: Evaluate usability, comprehension, and expectation alignment across multiple beta sites.
Design: Three participating sites (Vance Thompson Vision – Sioux Falls, Vance Thompson Vision – South Sioux City, and Brighton Vision) 168 cataract patients evaluated using InSightVR as part of the pre-operative education process
Impact:
AT-IOL chosen: 53% AT-IOL vs 47% standard
Ease of use: 83.6% rated headset easy or very easy
Would use again: 81.9%
- Patient Advocacy: 82.8% at 1 week; 91.1% at post-surgery follow-up
Conclusion: InSightVR consistently received high marks for usability and educational value. The majority of patients felt it clarified their IOL choices and set accurate expectations for post-surgery vision.

Why It Matters
Education That Empowers Understanding
Empowering not only the patient in their IOL decision, but technicians and surgeons alike report more efficient, productive conversations — reducing confusion and enhancing overall workflow.
Clarity Builds Higher Confidence
When patients can see the impact to vision the various IOL options offer, they make informed choices — leading to increased satisfaction and trust.
Aligned Expectations Drive Outcomes
By previewing realistic visual differences between IOL types, patients experience fewer surprises and greater post-surgery satisfaction.
