FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About InSightVR

What is InSightVR by GreenMan?

In short: Virtual reality patient education.

Powered by state-of-the-art virtual reality technology, InSightVR elevates patient education beyond abstract descriptions. Through personalized, experience-driven exploration within an immersive visual environment, patients gain an unparalleled understanding of their IOL options.

By delivering a tangible simulation of potential visual outcomes for different IOLs – including advanced premium options – InSightVR redefines how IOL selection is communicated. The result? Cataract patients are empowered to take control of their vision health, make informed decisions about IOL options, and feel confident that outcomes will meet their expectations.

How long will it take?

Beyond initial training, when the team member responsible for guiding patients through the InSightVR experience feels confident with program set up and IOL explanations, the experience takes 3-7 minutes total.

Is my patient a good candidate for InSightVR by GreenMan?

YES

InSightVR was created to transform patient education from complex concepts to clear, actionable insights. With features customizable for each patient and the appropriate education, the far majority of all cataract patients are excellent candidates for the InSightVR experience.

What if my patient has another pathology and the only IOL recommended is a Monofocal?

Patients choosing a monofocal IOL are able to visualize an example of what their vision potential without glasses or contact lenses after surgery will look like. This is helpful for patients to understand how they will be seeing the world prior to being able to get their new updated pair of glasses. Aligning expectations and elevating education; aways.

What if my patient’s best corrected vision is not 20/20?

The patient may not be able to see clearly for any number of reasons, however, this does not mean they are not a candidate for experiencing the InSightVR program. Coaching is the key. Prior to beginning the InSightVR experience, patients are reminded that just as the cataracts are impacting their real vision, they will also impact vision when inside the headset. Coaching patients not to focus on the visual clarity inside the headset, but rather on the differences between the IOL options is vital. A patient may have a BCVA of 20/80, but still be able to see the change between lens options and come to understand what each lens offers. That’s the goal; patient education and creating the confidence to make the best decision.

What if my patient has already decided on a certain lens?

What a great opportunity to solidify that decision with full confidence! Not only is it important to fully educate our patients on which lens they should choose, but to also ensure they understand what they are saying no to. Letting the patient experience the differences between the various IOLs is the best way to confirm that they do understand how each lens would, or wouldn’t, meet their visual goals.

Who is not a candidate for the InSightVR experience?

Patients with risk of seizure or who suffer from extreme vertigo and patients with other severe vision impacting pathologies.
